In a month-long experiment ending in mid-August, a group of 11 Norwegian downhill skiers aged 18 to 25 are spending most of their days at the Plan de l'Aiguille refuge near Chamonix, altitude 2,200 metres (7,218 feet). After a daily morning commute by cable car down into the valley, the athletes undergo an intensive training regime alternating inline skating, running, weight training, cycling and swimming.


Search intensifies for suspected killer of Memphis police officer

(Reuters) - The hunt for a man suspected of fatally shooting a policeman in Memphis intensified on Monday with law enforcement intent on capturing one of the most wanted men in Tennessee. Tremaine Wilbourn is suspected of shooting Officer Sean Bolton, 33, multiple times during a scuffle after the officer pulled up to a parked car and apparently interrupted a drug deal, Memphis police said. "We are exhausting all available resources," said police spokesman Louis Brownlee.
