E. coli from Costco chicken salad traced to tainted celery

Shoppers are pictured outside a Costco Wholesale store in Los AngelesBy Steve Gorman LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A multi-state E. coli outbreak that has sickened at least 19 people who ate rotisserie chicken salad sold at Costco Wholesale Corp's stores has been traced to a celery-and-onion mix used in the salad, prompting its California maker to recall the product. The contaminated chicken in that case was supplied by California-based Foster Poultry Farms.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) team said after a trip to South Sudan's Unity State that said 40,000 people there were projected to be in a food security "catastrophe" and at risk of famine. The IPC members include non-governmental organisations and U.N. agencies including the Food and Agriculture Organization and World Food Programme.

One killed, several injured in hit-and-run crash in New York City
