Former New Hampshire prep school student found not guilty of rape

Owen Labrie, 19, was found not guilty of three felony counts of raping a fellow student at St. Paul's School in Concord. Labrie closed his eyes and began to sob as the first verdict, finding him guilty of computer-related seduction, was read but regained his composure as the jury forewoman read out the three not guilty verdicts.

Legionnaires' disease prompts California prison to shut off water
By Dan Levine SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - An inmate at San Quentin State Prison on San Francisco Bay was diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease and about 20 others showed symptoms of pneumonia, prompting officials to shut off water service at the institution, a prison spokeswoman said on Friday. Legionnaires' disease, a severe form of pneumonia, is caused by inhaling mist infected with the bacteria Legionella. The diagnosed inmate, along with the others exhibiting symptoms, are all being treated at an outside hospital, said Dana Simas, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation.
