By Scott Malone and Elizabeth Barber BOSTON (Reuters) - Accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's older brother, Tamerlan, researched radio transmitters, fireworks and gun stores in the weeks leading up to the 2013 attack that killed three people, a computer expert testified on Tuesday. Lawyers for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 21, on Tuesday called their third witness on behalf of the defendant, digital forensics expert Mark Spencer, who testified about data found on three computers owned by the Tsarnaev brothers. The computer belonging to Tamerlan, who died four days after the April 15, 2013, attack, which also injured 264 people, showed searches for information on radio transmitters and receivers and on Ruger P95 handguns.

Armed suspect holds hostages inside Pennsylvania firehouse
(Reuters) - An armed suspect was holding an unknown number of hostages inside an eastern Pennsylvania volunteer firehouse on Tuesday, officials said. Reports of an armed suspect at the LaMott Fire Company in Cheltenham Township, about 13 miles north of Philadelphia, came in to authorities at about 10:40 a.m., said John Corcoran, spokesman for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety.
